Is it possible to perform a mass creation of analysis authorizations containing an infoObject with an hierarchy node as  value in RSECADMIN in BW version 7.1 or higher.

I have to create a large number of analysis authorizations, each containing an authorization relevant infoObject for profit ctr as a dimension. This Profit ctr dimension should contain an hierarchy authorization. During the definition steps of this hierarchy authorization a screen in which the hierarchy node needs to be selected pops up. In this screen the profit ctr hierarchy node needs to be selected from the hierarchy and dragged and dropped in the right part of the screen: 'Selected Hierarchy Nodes'.

If i have to do this manually for each analysis authorization it takes a lot of time. So my question is, is it possible to do a mass creation and how?

Hi Guys,

In case of nightly Process Chains, there is always a delay in running of a process step. Pseudo Delta Info Packages used in multiple Process chains always hang for a long long time. And if we check the process chain containing the info package in Log view, then the Pseudo delta info packages turn red (else it shows in yellow), even though the job is still running in the background (checked in SM37).

And finally after few hours when it has finished successfully, it turns green (even if the status is either Yellow or Red). When it turns green, the job log gets updated and does not show any message within that time frame. I have attached a screenshot of the job log below for reference.

Can anyone please tell me the reason for this delay, how can we find the same and going forward, how can we avoid this? Any advice would be of great help.

I'm trying to maintain the message alerts in my process chain where i'll be notified if upon success/failure of the process chains. I have partially achieved it but the body of my message alert looks so clumsy as shown below. I have maintained only the text message which is in bold below in my messgae alert.

I have a requirement where i want to use the query as a dataosource. I have achieved in on 7.3 system where the service pack is 9 (SAPKW73009).

I know this would be working on 7.3 version with service pack 9 and above. But just wondering if there is any note which can be applied on the system (7.3 version) where the service pack is 7 (SAPKW73007).

1. what is e_t_range where we are storing our result and why it's needed , is it called somewhere?

2. I found many thread which declare below in customer exit codes.

l_s_range type RSR_S_RANGESID

what does it mean and what its 3 values signifies low, sign  and opt ? is it some kind of work area?

3. wha is difference in  istep 1 and istep 2 basically. I know one is called before variable screen and other one after that. I just want to know the situation where it is used  and how we can conclude that in this situation we should use 1 or 2 ?

I have a requirement for which I am writing an end routine. The purpose is that for 1 account there can be many contracts of different types. Different contract types are for example - " RS - Residential ", or "CI - Commercial " or LT - Leased.

My requirement is that I am already populating the Account and the contract types in my internal table as below.

Account              Contract Type

1234                     RS

1234                     CI

1234                     LT

So like this 1 single account can have n number of contract types once collected in an internal table. but I want to search in this in internal table and look if LT is available and then populate a flag .

so if an account has 100 lines in internal table and even if 1 line has contract. type LT, then I want to be able to search for this and then if i find it, populate the flag in result fields as 'X". how can i do this kind of search in ABAP.

I extracted a CSV file from the result of a query designer using APD..

However, the keyfigures are in scientific notation..Is there a way to extract values of KF not in scientific notation? Or is there a way to convert the result of the KF to its original value?

     I have a flat file with just descriptions and I would like to load these and have Master Data ID automatically created.

So for InfoObject Bike Style  I would like to load the text and have Master Data ID's generated like BR00001, BR00002, BR00003.

So for InfoObject Bike Category I would like to load the text and have Master Data ID's generated like BC00001, BC00002, BC00003.

I'm thinking this might be possible using Number Range Functionality, but I thought there might some existing BW code out there for this someone might have seen?

Any thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated!

I have  transported 10 datasources from system DEV-BW to system QUAL-BW.

Both DEV-BW and QUAL-BW are connected to QUAL ECC.

The source system for 10 datasources in QUAL BW  is QUAL ECC.

We have added another source system (PRE-PROD ECC) for QUAL BW.

Its possible to change the source system to PRE- PROD  ECC for10 datasources in QUAL BW?

how to ensure thatthe next time,the transport ofdatasources  takes automatically the source system  PRE PROD ECC) in QUAL BW?

Dear Experts,

Our SAP BI system have been migrated on new servers.

Since this migration we can not run any process chain on BI.

• I have recreate a new process chain.
• I execute it - on immediate start - job standard priority C.
• I check the log but I can not see the step of the process chain running
• I go on SM37 to check the corresponding job which is on schedule status
• I double click on the job name I have the following error message

Definition of job BI_PROCESS_DTP_LOAD is incomplete. Operation is not possible

Message no. BT182

Diagnosis

The job that you have selected has not been completely defined. You therefore cannot modify the job's attributes. The job was defined with a call to the JOB_OPEN function module. But no job steps have been defined with the JOB_SUBMIT function module.

A possible explanation for this error is that a job was created non-interactively through the background programming interface. However, the program that created the job did not finish defining and scheduling the job.

Use the background job management facility to edit the job and finish scheduling it.

Datasource is based on a function module where Cursor is used.

I am getting dump @ line FETCH NEXT CURSOR , even when I tried to debug the function module dump occus.

In which condition we can use APPENDING CORRESPONDING FIELDS in Cursor
